Admission to the Master’s Degree Programme in Pedagogic Sciences requires applicants to meet the following curricular requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree (Laurea triennale) in Class L-19 (Educational and Training Sciences) or an equivalent qualification; alternatively, another Bachelor’s degree obtained in Italy, provided that the candidate has acquired at least 40 ECTS credits (CFU), distributed as follows: 20 ECTS credits in the academic fields PAED-01/A, PAED-01/B, PAED-02/A, PAED-02/B; 20 ECTS credits in the academic fields PHIL, HIST, GSPS, PSIC, SDEA; alternatively, a foreign academic qualification recognized as elegible, which grants direct access to a Master’s degree programme in accordance with current regulations.
The Master’s Degree Programme (LM-85) in Pedagogic Sciences promotes:
• Solid and in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of educational sciences, educational processes, the functioning of intervention contexts, as well as relevant methodologies and operational techniques;
• Well-established methodological and professional competences related to the observation and interpretation of educational and training processes; the development of the educational relationship; and the design, management, documentation, and evaluation of interventions in both formal and non-formal settings;
• Adequate proficiency in at least one official language of the European Union other than Italian, with particular reference to disciplinary terminology;
• Competence in the use of the main digital tools for educational and instructional purposes, as well as skills in the observation, monitoring, and analysis of problematic situations from social, educational, and psychological perspectives.
The Master’s Degree in Pedagogic Sciences (Class LM-85) qualifies graduates to practise as a Pedagogist in accordance with “Legge 15 aprile 2024, n. 55, Provisions concerning the regulation of pedagogical and educational professions and the establishment of the corresponding professional registers.” The degree constitutes a valid requirement for eligibility in the Professional Register of Pedagogists.
Graduates of the programme may carry out pedagogical activities involving consultancy, management, and coordination within public and private institutions, both school-based and non-school-based, addressing all aspects of educational issues. Such activities include service provision, project development, and cultural programmes directly or indirectly related to education and training, as well as initiatives supporting access to and dissemination of knowledge and culture. Graduates may also be involved in the evaluation and monitoring of educational and training interventions at various levels, and in supporting information and awareness-raising campaigns in the aforementioned fields.
Namely, graduates of the Master’s Degree Programme (Class LM-85) may work in:
• Research and action-research; planning, coordination, consultancy, evaluation, and documentation within services, educational and training systems, research centres and institutions, as well as public and private bodies and organizations connected with education, training, social prevention initiatives, human resource development, and relations with the labour market and business sectors;
• Design, implementation, research, and evaluation within educational and training services of various kinds, particularly those addressing social disadvantage, marginalization, and intercultural integration at the local level;
