Graduation Procedure

To be admitted to the final examination for the Master’s Degree in Pedagogic Sciences (LM-85), students must have earned all credits specified in their Study Plan, with the exception of those allocated to the final thesis, and must be up to date with the payment of tuition fees and other university contributions. Students who have earned all required credits may graduate regardless of the number of years they have been enrolled at the University.
To obtain the Master’s degree, students must submit an application to the relevant administrative office, countersigned by their thesis supervisor and routed through the Department Director, at least 180 days before the start date of the examination session in which they intend to graduate. The submission date recorded by the University Protocol Office will serve as official proof. For students enrolled through mobility programmes, this requirement will be certified by the programme mobility coordinator.

Thesis and Final Examination Score

The thesis is written in the language of instruction of the course; however, upon request, the supervisor may authorize the thesis to be written in English.
To pass the final examination, students must achieve a minimum score of 66/110, while the maximum score is 110/110, with the possibility of distinction (cum laude).
The final score for the degree examination is calculated as the sum of three components: base score, curricular score, and evaluation score.

Base score: Calculated as the weighted average of all graded courses in the student’s Study Plan, converted to a 110-point scale. Grades expressed in thirtieths are rounded to the nearest whole number; a grade of 30 with distinction (30 e lode) is assigned a value of 31.

Curricular score: The Commission may award up to 4 points, based on the following criteria:
a. Up to 2 points for participation in at least one mobility programme with ECTS credits (0.33 points per month of mobility);
b. 2 points for completing the degree within the standard duration of the programme;
c. 1 point for completing the degree within one year beyond the standard duration;
d. 1 point for achieving at least two distinction grades in core subjects.

Evaluation score: The Commission may award up to 7 points, based on the following criteria:
a. Quality of the thesis work;
b. Candidate’s understanding of the thesis topic, relevant bibliography, and ability to link it to core themes of the programme;
c. Ability to summarize the work and results clearly and concisely within the allotted presentation time;
d. Ability to respond appropriately to questions posed by the Commission.

Candidates achieving a final score of 112 or higher may be awarded distinction (lode) upon the supervisor’s proposal and unanimous approval of the Commission. Additionally, if the base score is 107 or higher, the candidate may receive an Academic Mention, subject to the same approval process.

The graduation examination is conducted in person, with formal proclamation and announcement of the final grade by the Commission.
